Arial vs. Helvetica

Arial is almost identical to Helvetica in most respects, but there are subtle differences. Arial tends to have small diagonal cuts at the ends of its letters instead of the horizontal or vertical cuts of Helvetica. The capital G of Helvetica has a spur while Arial has none. The most obvious difference is probably the leg of the capital R, the leg of Helvetica's R curves and straightens downward to the set width and briefly curves outward; while the leg of Arial's R shoots almost straight down to the set width.
